Biography: “My name is Billy Schmelzer. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa. I am studying chemical engineering and I work at Umicore Autocat in Auburn Hills, MI. After graduating I want to work at a company that does more research & development.

When I came to Kettering I hadn’t even thought about if I wanted to join a fraternity or not, but after learning more about Greek life at Kettering, with the networking and leadership opportunities and the sense of community it offered, I decided I’d give it a shot. At the ΣAE house, the strong fraternal bond between all the brothers and the creed they strive to live by, the True Gentleman, were what drew me in to become a proud brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. That is easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

In my free time I enjoy playing pretty much any sport, playing video games, watching something on Netflix, or just going out and hanging out with my brother. Other interests I have are camping, hiking, or pretty much any other outdoor activity. If you want to hang out, here is my contact info: (412) 956-3036 or [email protected]

I came to Kettering to learn at one of the best engineering institutions in the country to set myself up for a great future in the automotive field, and the knowledge I have already gained through school and work is incredible. It did not take long for me to decide that I wanted to join a fraternity, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon was a great fit for me because of the true brotherhood and the learning experience it has to offer. Biography: “I grew up in Farmington Hills and went to North Farmington High School. I did drum line and an auto mechanics class offered by my high school for 4 years. I came to Kettering with the hopes that the cooperative work program would show me how a future in mechanical engineering would appeal to me as a job in the future.”

“I was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent most of my childhood growing up in the suburbs of New Jersey. As a kid, I was always interested in engineering and design work. Many days were spent working on dirtbikes and four wheelers in the middle of the woods with my friends.

Kettering seemed like an obvious choice for my career path in Engineering, so I obtained a Co-Op position at FEV, Inc. in Auburn hills in July of 2008. I work with state of the art technology and learn valuable skills and knowledge on a daily basis.

After 2 terms at the University, I joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on campus. Since my freshman year, I have been the Eminent Herald and the IT Manager of the chapter. Being a brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon has been an extremely rewarding lifestyle and has helped mold me into a True Gentleman.”"I was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent most of my childhood growing up in the suburbs of New Jersey.
